Since 1982, The United Way of Hunterdon County has been
supporting a network of local human service agencies that meet a wide
variety of needs in our community.
Local residents and company representatives who
serve as volunteers lend a helping hand with a wide variety of needs
from distributing funds to serving on the Board of Directors.
The United Way staff members and the volunteers who
serve on various committees, work to identify agencies and programs
that are providing needed services in the county.
Some of these may be agencies you know like The
Salvation Army and the YMCA, but even more importantly are the smaller
agencies that you may not know. The ones who provide services to
children in need, the elderly, the hungry and homeless, and people
with disabilities. Without funding from the United Way of
Hunterdon County, many of these smaller agencies would not be able to
continue providing services in our community.
Volunteers monitor all of the services provided by
our certified member agencies to ensure programs are efficient and
effective. This keeps administrative costs low, making us a
leader among charitable organizations. It also enables us to put
more of your money to work right here in Hunterdon County to:
Help Kids Succeed
Increase Independence for Seniors
Strengthen Families
Build Stronger Neighborhoods
Meet Basic Needs
Foster Self-Sufficiency
Promote Health and Wellness
