It’s difficult to address your child’s educational needs and your family’s financial future when there is no food on your table or roof over your head. That’s why United Way supports programs that serve meals, provide shelter, clothing and other short-term services. These critical programs are the first step in getting our neighbors back on their feet during times of crisis.

"Ann” was homeless and she had no place to turn after being evicted from the apartment that she called home for 28 years. Her situation was made even more difficult because she did not have a car and lost many of the belongings in her possession. “Ann” quickly found help after she called HomeSharing, Inc. Within weeks, the professional staff at HomeSharing, Inc. successfully matched “Ann” with another neighbor in crisis to share the costs on a local apartment. Today, “Ann” is proud of her new home and she thanks HomeSharing, Inc. for giving her a new lease on life. * The name in this story was changed to protect the confidentiality of this individual.
