Local volunteers are the driving force that
helps keep Hunterdon County a great place to live and work.
That’s why United Way works throughout the year to promote
volunteerism and mobilize our community to improve the lives
of our neighbors. In fact, thousands of local residents and
businesses turn to United Way for volunteer opportunities
because United Way offers them the flexibility of deciding
between various methods of volunteering. Here are some of
United Way of Hunterdon County’s most-popular volunteer
initiatives:
Volunteer Solutions
United Way of Hunterdon County’s website has become
a local hub for volunteer referrals and more. If
you’re looking for volunteer opportunities, this is
the place for you!
Day of Caring
United Way of Hunterdon County’s Day of Caring is
our community’s premier volunteer event. Each year,
hundreds of volunteers complete community impact
projects and help kick-off United Way’s fundraising
campaign. Day of Caring also educates volunteers
about agency services, increases awareness of
existing agencies, and fosters positive
relationships between agencies and supporters.
Holiday Hands
United Way’s Holiday Hands program allows companies,
organizations and families to “adopt” local agency
clients during the holidays and support them with
gifts and supplies that make life a little easier to
live. Gift recipients are referred from United Way
certified agencies, non-certified agencies and
Hunterdon County’s Division of Social Services.
Caring
Connections
United Way ensures that in-kind donations reach
those in need throughout our area. Employees from
participating companies and local residents often
turn United Way’s Cartons of Caring into lifesavers
by dropping in their canned foods, clothing,
household supplies and other items.
Youth
for United Way
Youth for United Way inspires local children and
teens to take pride in our community through
community service projects.
