This is Hunterdon Strong

By Becky Testa, Board President & Bonnie Duncan, CEO United Way of Hunterdon County

Hunterdon County is blessed with many resources provided by nonprofit organizations whose missions aim to meet the immediate and long-term needs of our little haven in west-central NJ.  While the individual missions of these organizations are important, they alone cannot ensure the health, resiliency, and stability of our community.

Our missions are all interrelated, and largely dependent on one another, and Hunterdon County is best served when we come together, pooling our strengths to work collectively to build a just and thriving community.

This is what makes #HunterdonStrong and its unique collaboration an exciting, important, and necessary shift to better serve our community through this pandemic and beyond.

We hope that you will join us on Thursday, Nov. 19th at 6pm for this first-of-its kind livestream fundraising event that puts a modern twist on tried-and-true telethons reminiscent of celebrity, Jerry Lewis. Sing along with some of our favorite local bands and enjoy the music of award-winning musician Anthony Krizan, former lead guitarist of the jamband, the SPIN DOCTORS. Be entertained by our exceptionally talented high school performers and meet some of our dedicated nonprofit leaders.

In keeping with the theme of unique community collaborations, HunterdonStrong is being livestreamed at ArtYard, a contemporary art gallery in Frenchtown. When you tune in on the night of the event, you will also get a glimpse of Shelter Is, the gallery’s latest exhibition that brings together the work of nine artists whose works explore the physical and psychological function of shelter, its construction, and its improvisational nature; and raises questions of who seeks shelter, and for what reasons—political, socioeconomic, or environmental. Questions that are particularly poignant during this difficult time.

If you aren’t able to join us and make a donation that evening, you can give online now and/or purchase one of 2,000 raffle tickets and potentially win $100,000! The winner will be announced live on Nov. 19th.

Help us reach our goal of raising $1.5 million and support the nonprofits that ensure every individual in this community is helped during this difficult time and always.

Visit for more information or reach out to us, our board members, or our Development Director, Rachel Eichem for raffle tickets.

Last, but not least, thank you to our lead sponsor ShopRite of Hunterdon, and the following businesses for supporting this event: Flemington Car & Truck Country; Flemington Department Store; Three Bridges Wealth Advisorys, Lone Eagle Brewing, Farmers Insurance, Susan Pincofski, DMD, The Bank of Princeton, The Parker Agency, Columbia Bank, Flemington Veterinary, Basil Bandwagon, and more.
