Our local team is committed to creating dynamic programs, fostering community relationships and bring the vision of United Way to life in Hunterdon County. We represent decades of experience working within our community and most of us are Hunterdon County residents. We are passionate about creating community, building relationships and supporting our friends and neighbors through collaboration, programs and education.
Our offices are located in Flemington, but you can find us in the community most days, delivering programs, speaking with neighbors and building relationships that move our work forward. When you see us, say hello!
Jennifer Thompson, MSW
Chief Executive Officer
Jennifer oversees the strategic direction and daily operations of the organization. She brings over 20 years in the nonprofit sector to the role and is passionate about building strong communities. Local to Hunterdon, Jennifer is active in the community, sports and Hunterdon County NAACP.
Helen French
Director of Advancement & Philanthropy
Helen oversees strategic partnerships, development and advancement for UWHC. She brings a wealth of relationships and innovative ways that corporations can partner with the organization. Helen is passionate about building community and is a volunteer for Girl Scouts.
Laura Hernandez
Manager, Youth Programs
Laura oversees all of our youth programs including United in Play and Start School Strong. With over 10 years in the nonprofit field, she brings her passion for working with kids to life as she serves Hunterdon. Local to our community, she also serves on the Board for SAFE Hunterdon.
Laura speaks fluent Spanish.
Gabriela Bonnavent
Manager, Health Programs
Gabby oversees all of our programs surrounding health and mental health, and is a certified community health worker. She leads brings community together for mental health programs, health programming and community collaborations that bring vital educational opportunities and clinics to the community.
