This Giving Tuesday, United Way of Hunterdon County is Challenged to Double the Impact on Diaper Insecurity

Did you know the cost of diapers for one child averages $1000 per year? It’s an essential cost that 1 in 2 families with children in diapers struggles to afford. United Way of Hunterdon County (UWHC) helps local families who are struggling to meet this basic health necessity through our program, Hunterdon Hygiene Connection.

This Giving Tuesday, a UWHC board member has generously pledged a matching gift of up to $1000 for all monetary donations made to the Hunterdon Hygiene Connection from Giving Tuesday on November 28 through the end of the year.

Diaper insecurity is year-round.  During the holiday season, we do not want our neighbors in need to have to make the choice between a holiday meal, a gift for their child, paying their everyday expenses, or ensuring their child has enough diapers to keep them healthy and dry.  We are grateful to our board member for their generous matching gift challenge this holiday season.

Every $25 donated ensures we have 60 more diapers to distribute to the community.  Together, we can double our impact by providing diapers for families in need within Hunterdon County.
