Tools 4 School - Back to School

T4S Back 2 School (Spanish)

Every year we collect school supplies for children on the free and reduced lunch program in school districts within Hunterdon County. In 2021, we helped 800+ students from pre-K through 12th grade with filled backpacks to help them start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.

During our annual drives, we engage with our community volunteers and donors to collect back-to-school supplies such as pencils, crayons, markers, earbuds, composition books, notebooks, folders, glue and similar. Through our school partnerships, we learn what supplies are needed for each grade level, and then assemble backpacks full of those grade-specific supplies for each student who applies.

Our donors can purchase backpacks and school supplies through our online wish lists and by shopping locally. Collectively, our 2021 program saved parents and caregivers over $40,000 in back-to-school costs, helping to relieve some of the financial burden that our hardworking families often experience at the beginning of the school year.

The Tools 4 School Back to School drive offers an opportunity for local businesses, service clubs, and faith-based organizations to host supply drives to support our Hunterdon County students. It's also one of our most visible activities in the community that attracts dozens of volunteers in the summer months leading up to the annual distribution day.

Together, we will continue to build a stronger, more resilient community where every child can fully engage in their education.
